




The Royal Docks are part of Inner London, located in East London's Zone 3. It is the collective name for three dock areas along the River Thames.

This major strike dealt a severe blow to the Royal Docks. As the power supply to the docks was cut off, 750,000 tons of frozen goods faced great challenges. The Royal Navy connected the generators of two submarines to the refrigerators in the warehouses, saving the dock owners from incalculable losses.
At that time, there were only the Royal Albert Dock and the Royal Victoria Dock, both of which were built by the London and St Katharine Docks Company. The purpose was to provide berthing for large ships that could not be accommodated upstream. Mainly food import and export transportation took place here.
