Battersea Power Station is a former derelict coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames in Nine Elms. The building consists of two power stations, constructed in two phases within one building. Battersea A Power Station was built between 1929 and 1935, and Battersea B Power Station to the east was built between 1937 and 1941, with construction suspended due to the worsening of World War II. The building was completed in 1955.

Zotefoams Plc manufactures a series of closed cell cross-linked polyolefin foam, which are widely used in sports, construction, navigation, automation, medical equipment and aerospace. Gasworks was established in 1853, near the existing waterworks of the Southwark and Vauxhall Waterworks Company. Later, Battersea Power Station was built on this site.

1838Year(s)

Nine Elms Railway Station opened on May 21, 1838. It was the first London terminus of the London and South Western Railway. On that day, the name of the railway station was officially changed from London and Southampton Railway Station. This Neoclassical building was designed by Sir William Tite. Steamers on the River Thames connected the station between Vauxhall and London Bridge, greatly improving transportation convenience.
